When we are talking about the peace and security in Africa

By Baba Olosun

When we are talking about the peace and security in Africa, we should not forget the western powers who appointed themselves as the God-sent and divined administrators of the world. They cornered all the world wealth to themseves. They almost have nothing and they also have everything by virtue of their being callous, greedy, cruel, selfish and worshippers-of-money. The interest of these so-called world powers is to continue to be lords of the world, to be dashing aids to the countries that they made to be poor because of the imbalance of the world economy which concentrated the 95% of the world wealth in the hands of only seven countries while more than 200 countries need to be slugging the remaining 5% out by themselves-the ungrateful job given to IMF, world bank, WTO and other international institutions. What can we deduce from a situation where a poor country got 30 million dollars debt relief and the same country was forced to buy 30 million dollars modern military hardwares which she has no technical know-how to make the best use of! It is like a step forward and two step backward. What is another situation where a country is already finished because of heavy-debt burden and IMF and the world bank are still insisting that the same country should borrow more money from them. A situation where local wars are being encouraged in order for these powerful nations to be making money from weapons. A situation where the only love the Europeans are having for Africans is only to continue to steal their God-given natural resources by dubious and violent means. When our people now decided to come to their countries(west) to work and make money for themselves, they would deny them visas or to kill those who succeeded to find themselves in the west or to put them in prison. Where are we going from here? Who is fooling who? The best solutions to free Africa from this unwarranted situation are; Let this Europeans leave us alone, they are Europeans we are Africans; we should treat eachother with mutual understanding and respect;nobody in this world should be treated like second-class citizen of the world;a situation where few people would have everything and majority of the people in the world would have nothing should stop, the world is having enough for everybody to live good life;sovereignty of every country in the world should be recognised, no country is having right to dictate to other country. If all these proposals are implemented, I am sure, Africa would witness unrivalled peace, security and fast growth and development.
