Art Exhibition

The art gallery section of our group usually organises art exhibitions of Yoruba art and the aim of the art works are to spread the messages of Yoruba Traditional Religion. The art exhibitions are taking place regularly in Nigeria and Germany. Any individual, organisation and institution world-wide who is interested in Yoruba art can -->contact us for co-operation.

Lekan Oguntunde

Paintings

 On 8th of June 2007 at 6 p.m. the exhibition of paintings of Lekan Oguntunde will be opened in the rooms of the doctor`s surgery Eling, Göllner-Horstmann at Hauptstraße 18, Ostbevern. Lekan Oguntunde is a Nigerian artist who is presently studying at art academy Münster, Germany and who has exhibited in Germany since 1998. He is also a dancer and drummer as well as a priest of Yoruba traditional religion. The exhibition can be seen till 9th of September 2007. It is opened Mondays to Fridays from 8 – 12 noons and on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 6 p.m.


Segun Adeku & Textiles

Printings

On 9th of June at 2 p.m. an exhibition of Segun Adeku, an artist from the Yorubaland of Nigeria, will be opened at“La Folie”, a glass pavillon of the government of Ostbevern at Hauptstraße in Ostbevern, Germany. Segun Adeku is a master of colourful and precise printings. There will also be a short introduction on the art of Segun Adeku by Birgit Olosun, Director of Art & Culture of Friends of Yoruba Culture e.V. The exhibition will last till 16th of June and can be seen as from 10th of June 2007 daily from 4 till 7 p.m. and by special appointment (tel.: 02532 959132). After the opening, Yoruba food will be offered in the Begegnungsstätte of the Government Secretariat, Hauptstraße, Ostbevern, Germany.
